LOS ANGELES, CA – September 21, 2021 — FuzzyBot, a new independent game development studio, announced today it has raised a $3.5M Seed Round led by BITKRAFT Ventures with participation from Sisu Games Ventures and 1Up Ventures. The capital will be used to scale the team and further accelerate development of their first game.

Founded by Electronic Arts (EA) veterans Tatyana Dyshlova, former Lead Producer at EA, and Max Spielberg, former Design Director at EA,  the new studio is on a mission to create ambitious cross-genre, co-op games that are deep, replayable, and socially creative. Alongside Tatyana and Max, the core team consists of former leads from AAA game studios such as EA, Bungie, Ubisoft, and Retro Studios.

For its first game, FuzzyBot plans to create a “roguelife,” a long-lasting co-operative game that blends combat and progression elements of the Roguelite and Life Sim genres.

“It’s evident that the FuzzyBot team has transferred their synergy from EA to the new studio. Their proven ability to grow a world-class development team will be invaluable as they collaborate to tap into a cross-genre market opportunity,” commented BITKRAFT Ventures Founding General Partner, Malte Barth.

“I worked with Max early on in his career at EA and I felt even back then that he had the talent to start his own studio one day. I was further convinced that Sisu should invest when I got to know Tatyana as well. Her passion and positive energy is contagious and she cares deeply about creating an awesome company culture. Our industry needs more CEOs like her. Finally, the vision for the game and the team Max and Tatyana recruited made it a slam dunk! We are proud and excited to welcome Tatyana, Max, and their whole team into the ever-expanding Sisu family of ambitious game industry entrepreneurs,” commented Sisu Game Ventures General Partner, Erik Gloersen.

At its core, FuzzyBot believes the best ideas can come from anyone, cultivates ownership and creativity, and prioritizes a healthy work-life integration.

“The games industry is notorious for its inflexible high-crunch culture and we are determined to chart a new path in how our company operates and brings games to market. We value the collaborative speed that comes from working within a small team and look to capitalize on the benefits that a remote studio can provide,” commented CEO and Co-Founder, Tatyana Dyshlova.
