Virgile is the founder of workogether, a business consulting firm specialized in marketing and selling middleware and game technologies.

He has been working in the game industry since 1999.

Between 1999 and 2005, he was part of Virtools, a company offering an outstanding middleware, allowing designers to build interactive 3D application & games in record time, for online delivery. He headed European sales then moved to Montreal to setup the North American subsidiary.

In 2005, the company was sold to Dassault Systèmes, the second largest software company in Europe, specialized in 3D Product Life Cycle Management (Catia, Solidworks etc.).

Between 2006 and 2010, he was VP Electronic Entertainment, in charge of building up the entertainment arm of 3DVIA, a new brand of Dassault Systemes.

In 2010, he founded a consulting company called Workogether, operating in the electronic entertainment field. Between 2010 and 2012 as an external consultant, he joined SoftKinetic, a pioneer provider of 3D vision and gesture recognition technologies (hardware, software and content), to lead Sales & Marketing initiatives. While he was there, the company grew from 20 to 110 people, closing major industrial partnerships.

Very interesting article, with great tips. I would add something complementary: Playtest early . Indeed, while playtesting prior to release is essential, providing playable prototypes as early as possible to a carefully targeted group should validate / invalidate / orientate future milestones within the game development process. Same methodologies as ...
