I'm an independent games industry consultant with 20 years experience. My consultancy work often focuses on retention / monetization design & optimization for free-to-play & games-as-a-service, but also expands into broader topics like positioning advice / portfolio management, long term strategic planning and mentoring of senior staff and designers.

Since I started in the games industry in 1999 I've worked across console, PC and mobile - in AAA and free-to-play. I've been a game designer, project lead, studio head and senior executive. I'm at my most happy in strongly entrepreneurial roles, in challenging new markets and risky business environments.

I 'm not suggesting in any way shape or form Nintendo get involved in the App Store. r n r nI 'm not sure how creating core gamer devices on a completely different design/experience dimension to a TV-based console is competing head-to-head with creators of TV-based consoles.
