I'm very happy to see Deadly Premonition and Nier on this list. I expected the former, but not the latter. I feel like I've been championing Nier all year. Really came out of nowhere for me and was a major pleasant surprise.

Yeah, the two lives penalty for dying on vehicle/barrel levels is harsh. Then again, you can use co-op to your advantage in other levels by having one player fall back so you can take turns reviving each other. Doesn't always work, but was great help during the boss stages. As ...
