Microsoft has announced that this Wednesday's regular Xbox Live Arcade updated will see the addition of Infinite Interactive's hit Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlord
game, as well as a free ad-supported driving game, Yaris
from Toyota and Backbone Entertainment.
The XBLA release of Puzzle Quest
is the game's first non-handheld release, with, as previously reported
further versions expected for the Wii, PS2, PC, and mobile phones.
Microsoft says the Xbox Live Arcade version will bring a number of "minor reblanacing and gameplay tweaks" to the title, as well as online multiplayer battles, camera support, Achievements, leaderboards and Gamerscore. The game will be available for 1200 Microsoft Points ($15).
Also launching on Wednesday is an ad-supported free title, Yaris
, which Microsoft describes as "the first dodger/shooter driving game on the platform."
Developed by Backbone Entertainment and Toyota, the game promises to put players "behind the wheel of a customizable Toyota Yaris to destroy enemies, avoid obstacles, and finish the course before it finishes them."
With online multiplayer races and leaderboards for best time and score, Yaris
will feature a number of customization options and a varied arsenal of weapons. The game will be released at no cost, the first ad-supported release on the service, for one year.
