Officials from British developer Kuju have announced that the company has established a new studio named doublesix, which will be dedicated solely to developing downloadable games for Xbox Live Arcade, the PlayStation Network, WiiWare and the PC.
The company has created a number of specialized studios in recent months, with Chemistry focusing on Unreal Engine developed titles and Zoe Mode on casual and social gaming. New studio doublesix will be based in Guildford, near London, and staffed primarily by the teams behind Geometry Wars: Galaxies and PlayStation Network release Nucelus.
"Rolling a double six is about having another go and that embodies what we're about - addictive, fun games that you always want to go back to," said studio head James Brooksby,
"We believe that the future of digitally-distributed games promises to be more diverse than ever in respect to the scale and genre of development and with respect to the business models. doublesix has been established to deliver on that promise. We're here to offer publishers the technical know-how and creativity they need," he added.
