South Korean Developer T3 Entertainment integrated Allegorithmic's procedural texturing middleware ProFX into its production pipeline and will use it to develop a forthcoming science fiction-themed, free-to-play MMO codenamed "Project G," to be published by Hanbitsoft.
ProFX generates procedural textures for 3D games through a non-linear authoring process, greatly reducing both asset creation time as well as volume of game data. With these optimizations, Allegorithmic believes that ProFX is ideal for use in MMOs, virtual communities, casual titles, and downloadable games.
Founded in 1999, T3 Entertainment is best known for Audition Online, a popular casual MMO that has players accumulating points by dancing in a virtual disco. The company has branches in Korea, Great Britain, China, Taiwan, and Japan.
Allegorithmic's client list includes Ready At Dawn, Stray Bullet Games, and City of Heroes-developer NCsoft.
"Our audience wants superb game play and outstanding graphics, but they need easily downloadable files," says T3 Entertainment producer Joo chul-ho. "By using the advanced texturing features of ProFX to author our upcoming titles, we will be able to provide online gamers worldwide with the high quality and fast downloads that they require."
