It's a notable nod for the game, which was designed in conjunction with a non-profit organization to celebrate Alaskan Native culture.
Other developers nominated for awards include 11 bit studios for This War Of Mine, Nicky Case and Vi Hart for Parable of the Polygons, and the soon-to-be-shuttered Game Oven for Bounden.
USC Games program director Tracy Fullerton is also slated to receive the "Game Changer Award" during the Games for Change award gala, which will be hosted game industry luminary Jesse Schell at NYU on April 22nd.
The award, which was given out for the first time last year (to Schell, no less), recognizes significant contributions from individual who inspire and mentor a new generation of game creators, critics and researchers.
More details on the 12th Annual Games for Change festival, including the full list of award nominees, can be found over on the Games For Change website.
