Microsoft has launched a month-long promotion for the Xbox One called [email protected] Game Fest. Each week this month will offer promotions and discounts for downloadable, independently developed games on the company's flagship console platform.
Games included in the promotion range from Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime to Roblox and Rocket League, among many others. Full details are available at the Xbox website, and a trailer for the first week is embedded above.
"It’s amazing to be able to celebrate some of the successes developers have had with the [email protected] Game Fest, and I’m also really excited to be able to resurface some really great games that I hope people will take the time to check out, such as Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime and Lifeless Planet," [email protected] head Chris Charla said in the official blog post for the promotion.
The company kicked off the movement for indepedently developed, digitally downloaded console games, which came to fruition on the Xbox 360. Its week-long Summer of Arcade promotion was a highlight of the year also pioneered promotion of downloadable console games, though its early initial success gave way to diminishing returns.
