The Nintendo Switch has sold over 1.5 million units in Japan alone, and at the same time has managed to keep its weekly sales numbers relatively stable despite supply issues that have plagued the console since launch.

This information comes from Japanese market analyst Media Create, who reports that the console has seen its shares of ups and downs but has ultimately sold as many as 1,527,962 units in Japan after 26 weeks.

For comparison’s sake, the PlayStation 4 had only moved 665,760 units in Japan during the 26 weeks after its own 2014 launch. Following that, it would be another 43 weeks before the console broke through to 1.5 million sold, according to information gathered by Kotaku.

Those same numbers offer an interesting glimpse at how the early sales figures for both consoles stack up, side by side. For instance, both systems moved around 300k units during their first week and 60k their second.

But while the PlayStation 4’s numbers slowly declined throughout the system’s first 26 weeks, Switch sales have largely remained consistent outside of a few sharp spikes. According to Media Create, the least successful week for the Switch, week 25, still saw 22,277 sales. For the PlayStation 4, week 25 only marked 5,470 sales.
