Earlier this year Atari announced its return to the console business with the Ataribox, and the company has been drip-feeding us information ever since.

We got our first proper look at the retro-inspired console back in July, and now we finally know how much it'll cost and what sort of tech it's packing.

According to an email sent out by the company, the Ataribox will launch with an expected price range of $249 to $299 -- depending on specific editions and memory configurations.

The console will be powered by a customized AMD processor with Radeon graphics technology. It'll also run Linux, and sport a tailored user interface designed with accessibility in mind.

"Most TV devices have closed systems and content stores. Linux lets us be more open; you can access and customise the OS, and you can access games you've bought from other content platforms (if compatible with the OS and HW)," reads the email.

"There will be tons of classic Atari retro games pre-loaded, and current titles from a range of studios. We'll start talking titles very soon, stay tuned."

The company hopes to fire units out in Spring 2018, and will be launching an Ataribox Indiegogo campaign later this year.
