The Difficult Second Bundle, the latest independent game download bundle from the
Indie Royale website has surpassed a major milestone: over 25,000 units sold in just two days.
To commemorate, organizers have released two brand new games for all previous and future 2nd Bundle buyers - intense shmups
Bullet Candy Perfect and
Irukandji from Charlie's Games, available on Windows, Mac, and Linux directly, or through download platform Desura.
The bundle has also just added three add-ons to Red Redemption's existing bundle title
Fate of the World, including the full standalone soundtrack from acclaimed composer Richard Jacques (
Jet Set Radio, Headhunter), as well as the Denial and Migration DLCs - with more bonus content for other titles to come before the end of the bundle.
All of this new content is in addition to the Difficult Second Bundle's initial games. These include
Fate of the World, a tough strategy game from Red Redemption that asks you to save the entire world from crisis, in addition to
NightSky, an addictive arcade puzzler from Nicalis and a past IGF Seumas McNally Grand Prize finalist.
Next up is
Scoregasm from Charlie's Games, a frantic space shooter that will get you a little hot under the collar with its hordes of bullet, enemies and explosions. Finally, there's the humor-filled
Ben There, Dan That! and
Time Gentlemen, Please!, a classic 2D adventure game combo, both from Size Five Games.
The Indie Royale bundle series - part of the UBM TechWeb Game Network, as is Gamasutra - runs on a unique model where price will automatically increase as more people buy the bundle. Generous purchasers, however, can help lower the price for everyone else by choosing to pay more than the current minimum, earning a mention on the front page of the site in the process.
The current Bundle price has dropped under $3 in recent hours thanks to generous contributions from the community. In addition, Mac and Linux compatibility has been added for select games in this new bundle. The Indie Royale concept is co-created by IndieGames.com (a sister website to Gamasutra) and Desura.
With around two and a half days to go until the end of the Difficult 2nd Bundle, more information on the latest Bundle is available at Twitter (
