Vicious Cycle Software, Inc. has announced that the company has officially joined the Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCEI). Tools and Middleware program for the PSP handheld. The company will offer its Vicious Engine toolset to developers and publishers of games for the PSP platform as a licensed middleware solution.

According to the firm, the company's Vicious Engine, which is a pre-made 3D engine at its core, and is also available for console formats, provides a comprehensive, easy-access suite of development tools that are accessible to all members of a software development team-from artists, to designers, to engineers.

"We are thrilled to be part of the official SCEI Tools and Middleware program for PSP. By completing this process, we are now able to offer and provide a complete PSP game development solution to others in the gaming community," said Eric Peterson, President of Vicious Cycle Software, Inc. "With the Vicious Engine, PSP developers can be extremely productive and focus on making quality content immediately instead of spending months developing a proprietary engine."
