Boston, MA (May 21, 2018) / War of Awards, a video game award mega-battle, held its fourth event at PAX East this year.

Preparations for the fifth event are already under way.

A Discord server has been established to discuss early buzz for awards:

Polling is open at:

https://www.warofawards.org

Developers, journalists, and consumers are encouraged to vote online to provide the earliest data for trend-line graphs shared with the community throughout the year.

Golden Joysticks are the earliest expected news.  The nominations date and winner ceremony date have not been announced, but tentative watch dates are projected for September 22-28 (nominees) and November 29-30 (winners).

Additional awards to be factored into the race throughout the year include Game Awards, DICE, GDC, GANG, NAVGTR, IGF, SXSW, and BAFTA.

The big finale will take place during a future live debate crowning the ultimate winners of the "War of Awards" in 8 categories:

1. ART DIRECTION

2. AUDIO

3. CHARACTER/PERFORMER

4. DESIGN

5. NARRATIVE

6. NEW IP/DEBUT

7. TRENDING PERSONALITY

8. GAME OF THE YEAR

Every gamer has a persuasive argument why a favorite game should win all the awards.  "War of Awards" is a chance to make that argument on the grand stage.

Games editor Susan Arendt noted, "Not only do they get to make their case in front of their peers, but they also get the chance to win people over to their side! Anyone who's ever gotten into a forum brawl or twitter fight over what the Game of the Year actually should have been --- and, really, who hasn't? --- should make their voice heard in the War of Awards."
