Zurich, Switzerland, July 27th, 2021 - SwissGames will bring 18 indie games to this year’s digital Gamescom, running from 25 to 27 August. A selection of highly promising game development studios from Switzerland will showcase their latest projects, in many cases for the first time ever. As part of the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia, SwissGames is an initiative to promote Swiss game developers at home and abroad, with Gamescom being the highlight of 2021.

Among the 18 titles are highlights like The Wandering Village from Stray Fawn Studio, Wild Planet from Lukyantsev Company, Moroi from Violet Saint and Grimoire Groves from Stardust.

The Wandering Village is a city-building simulation set in a world where toxic spores have contaminated the planet, and a small group of people take shelter on the back of a giant, wandering creature. As their leader, the player builds their settlement and forms a symbiotic relationship with the roaming creature to survive together in this hostile, yet beautiful world.

Wild Planet is a stylish low-poly open world survival game set on a vast alien planet full of diverse biomes and things to discover. Players explore, hunt the indigenous alien fauna, build outposts, and craft weapons and equipment as they attempt to survive and build a life for themselves in the hostile alien environment.

Moroi is a top-down surreal horror hack-and-slash shooter with adventure elements, dark humor, weapon crafting and a focus on unique story and dialogue. The world of Moroi is filled with weird creatures and is a mix of absurdist and dream-logic events inspired by dark folklore and fairytales.

Grimoire Groves is a non-violent roguelite adventure where players join forces with different witches and venture into the forest to gather plants. These plants are then used to brew potions, craft spells and create new outfits.

These 18 titles from Swiss development studios will be part of the delegation at Gamescom 2021:
