9/13/2021: Genfanad has today announced that they’ll be hosting an open alpha testing weekend beginning on the 24th of September. This testing weekend will include Genfanad’s tutorial and starting area, as well as showcasing some of the features that will be in the final game, including a variety of skills to level up and monsters to fight.

Not only this, but Genfanad is celebrating the occasion by giving away prizes and rewards; including a number of adorable Dragonwyrm plushies, limited-edition stickers, and more.

Check out the Genfanad testing-hype trailer here:

Genfanad describes itself as a nostalgic, throwback MMORPG that sees players thrown into a fantasy world full of traditional RPG tropes turned on their head, creating a refreshingly modern setting wrapped up in the nostalgic packaging that we all remember. In it, you can embark on quests, hone your skills, gather resources and even slay lowly chickens.

The alpha testing weekend comes complete with a referral system, allowing players to potentially earn more prizes in a number of ways - from inviting your friends, to streaming the game, or even through completing the most quests within the alpha.

This testing weekend follows a successful ‘streamer showcase’ day hosted by Genfanad last month. With the ‘TeamIQ’ streaming squad paving the way, Genfanad amassed dozens of concurrent players and even involved their community, giving the streamers referral codes to allow viewers to play alongside them.

Genfanad is also looking to launch a Kickstarter campaign early next year, putting their player-first motto into practice. If you’re interested, the alpha weekend is the perfect opportunity to try it out for yourself and get involved with the community!
