Today begins the new adventure of SyncBuildRun.

Looking at the state of computer, mobile, and console gaming, it occurred to us that there are still some untapped opportunities. Particularly, entertainment “series” are incredibly popular, and they can have a long term positive impact on our lives as viewers of films and television shows, and players of game franchises. Harry Potter, Star Wars, Ubisoft’s Assassins Creed series, the Telltale Games versions of The Walking Dead, AMC’s version of The Walking Dead, Mad Men, Halt and Catch Fire, Cardboard Computer’s Kentucky Route Zero, Pixar’s Toy Story series, the list of great experiences goes on and on. And in gaming, while there are good examples of Episodic Gaming by Telltale and Cardbard Computer (among others), the episodes are sporadically released, or are few and far between.

We want to change that. We want to deliver Episodic Gaming on a regular cadence, with new episodes every week, delivered at the same time, reliably, just like a television show. We think it can be done if we set ourselves up for success, and we think we can provide some interesting innovations in gaming that can’t be done (or would be incredibly difficult to provide) in other media such as Television. It’s going to be a challenge, but if it were easy, everyone would be doing it.

One of our Core Values is “Relentless Transparency.” We want to remain open and keep our players and fans up to date with what’s going on. In that spirit, we’ll have blog posts on a weekly basis so that you know what SyncBuildRun is up to, what we’re building next, and when you can expect to play our games.

We also want to create a company where smart, driven, creative people can build amazing experiences for our players and our customers. There will be more on who we’re looking for, and how to work with us, in the coming weeks and months.

We’re looking forward to telling you more as we march forward, and we’re happy to have you along for the journey!
