Rockstar Meets Team Bondi For L.A. Noire

Officials from Take-Two publishing label Rockstar Games have announced a new partnership with Australian-based development studio Team Bondi to publish L.A. Noire, an interactive detective story set in the classic noir period of the late 1940s.

According to the companies, L.A. Noire will feature open-ended gameplay that will focus on action, detection and a complex narrative that centers on a series of gruesome murders in an effort to blend cinema and gaming. While the companies note that L.A. Noire is a next-generation title, no information was announced pertaining to any specific platforms.

The developers at Team Bondi have a history of creating games that are immersed within gritty criminal underworlds. Formed in 2004 by Brendan McNamara, the director of London based Team Soho’s The Getaway, the studio is also staffed by several other members of that team. In addition, Sam Houser of Rockstar Games will serve as the game's executive producer, with McNamara as director of development for L.A. Noire.

"Brendan and I have known each other for a long time, and to finally have the opportunity to work together on a game is exciting," said Houser. "The longstanding mutual respect and the combined experience between the two of us make this a great partnership," added McNamara.
