Namco To Bring Warhammer: Battle March To 360

Namco Bandai announced that will bring Games Workshop's popular tabletop strategy game Warhammer to the Xbox 360 in 2008 with Warhammer: Battle March, real-time strategy title based on the 2006 PC title Warhammer: Mark of Chaos.

Namco first obtained the Warhammer license in 2005, allowing the firm to publish titles based on Games Workshop's long running line of paper and miniature-based games set in the Warhammer universe. The deal resulted in two initial offerings, including the aforementioned Warhammer: Mark of Chaos, as well as Warhammer: Battle for Atluma for the PSP.

As the latest project to stem from this deal, Warhammer: Battle March will feature all of the content contained in the original PC title, as well as new features, a refined control scheme, and support for online play over Xbox Live. Over Xbox Live, Namco Bandai reveals that up to four players will be able to participate in any given battle, with the game supporting both head-to-head and team-based modes of play.

In addition, Namco Bandai has also confirmed a version of the game is in development for the PC, titled Warhammer: Mark of Chaos- Battle March. Planned for release alongside its Xbox 360 counterpart, the expansion will build upon the original game with new units for each army, as well as an original campaign and new online modes. Both versions will feature six playable armies, including the Empire, Chaos, Skaven, and High Elves, as well as the newly added Dark Elf and Orcs & Goblins forces.
