Nik Nak Developing 'Ology Wii Titles For Codemasters

Developer Kuju's family focused division Nik Nak has announced it will develop Wii titles Dragonology and Wizardology for Codemasters.

The games are based on the 'Ology series of books, which present fictional details of dragons, wizards and pirates. Codemasters recently announced an agreement with Templar Publishing, which has sold some 15 million copies in the series, to license the IP. The agreement also provided for DS titles based on the book series, but no announcement has yet been made for the handheld versions.

Dragonology explores the study and conservation of dragons, while Wizardology is a fictional manual of spells and magical information, purported to be written by the legendary magician Merlin. According to Nik Nak, the games, like the books, will be targeted at kids.

Said Nik Nak studio head Kevin Holloway, "We are delighted to be working with Codemasters on the Dragonology and Wizardology games for Wii. The readers of the Templar books are exactly the target audience that Nik Nak's games set out to entertain."

He continued, "In developing the games, we have designed ways that will make the Wii Remote an intuitive control device for the younger player, whilst allowing more experienced players the challenge of perfecting their performance."
