Eidos Announces Wacky Races For Wii, DS

Eidos Interactive (Hitman, Deus Ex) has announced the June 2008 release of Wacky Races: Crash & Dash, licensed from Warner Bros. and based on the Hanna-Barbera cartoon.

Eidos says the game, to be released on Wii and DS, will feature characters and cars from the TV show, including Turbo Terrific driven by Peter Perfect, the Ant Hill Mob in their Bullet Proof Bomb, Penelope Pitstop, and the Mean Machine driven by Dick Dastardly and his sidekick, Muttley.

Players can race through a variety of cross-country rallies from the TV series, shooting for the title of World's Wackiest Racer. Racers can also earn "Wacky Powers" to use against their opponents by collecting items on the racetrack.

Warner Bros. and Eidos parent company SCi originally signed an investment and partnership agreement in December of 2006, giving the latter rights to a number of classic and recent Warner Bros. properties, including Batman, Looney Tunes, many Hanna-Barbera titles and The OC.
