3D touch tech company Novint Technologies has announced an agreement with developer and publisher Codemasters to support the Novint Falcon game controller with its popular PC titles, including Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising, which will incorporate Falcon controls on release when the game ships in 2009.
The company says that using its custom Falcon controller will allow gamers to "feel extremely realistic touch sensations such as the weight of a ball as it is thrown, the sideways acceleration of a car as it drifts around a sharp turn, or the realistic recoil of a machine gun."
Other Codemasters games slated to join the Novint Falcon game lineup with added controller support under the agreement include Race Driver: Grid, Overlord: Raising Hell, Sensible Soccer, and Brian Lara Cricket.
Previously, the company announced a similar deal with Valve to add Novint Falcon controller support to The Orange Box, Counter-Strike: Source, Half-Life 2, Team Fortress 2, Portal and Left 4 Dead. Electronic Arts has also agreed to incorporate the controller with future Madden, Tiger Woods PGA Tour, NBA Live, Need for Speed, and Battlefield releases.
Said Novint CEO Tom Anderson: "We are excited to bring our technology to Codemasters' titles. These are incredibly fun and compelling games that span many different genres that will really shine with Falcon play. Our integration in Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising is particularly significant as one of our first worldwide day and date releases with a major title."
