Digital distribution service GamersGate has signed a new agreement with Sega, which will see the Japanese-headquartered publisher’s PC titles become available through the GamersGate portal.
The first two games on offer will be back catalog titles Football Manager 2009 (aka World Wide Soccer Manager 2009) and Universe at War: Earth Assault. Additional catalog titles Condemned, Rome: Total War and OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast are also slated to appear on the service.
The GamersGate portal and service was founded by Swedish company Paradox Interactive, also known for developing turn-based PC strategy games such as Europa Universalis and Hearts of Iron.
In December of last year, the company announced that developers would be able to add microtransactions to their games on GamersGate, either via the game’s lobby or within the game itself. No indication has been given as to whether Sega intends to use this feature.
"We look forward to welcoming such a well-established and celebrated partner to our growing online portfolio," said GamersGate CEO Theodore Bergquist. "With the addition of Sega’s excellent portfolio of games, GamersGate further strengthens its position as a leading digital download portal."
