According to a new report, Sony will be releasing its PlayStation 3 in Korea in June, with analysts predicting a 60GB-only launch at a price of 500,000 - 600,000 South Korean won ($541.50 - 649.80USD).

The new report from Korean news site Chosun Ilbo cites industry insiders as saying Sony Computer Entertainment Korea has asked Japan's headquarters to finalize the consoles Korean release date, predicted to be next month.

Chosun says SCEK is still in the process of finalizing pricing and model details, and is waiting on Sony Japan to green light a marketing campaign for the country, but the insiders have predicted a 60GB-only launch (with the 20GB model having never been launched in Europe, and the U.S. model recently discontinued), at as much as 600,000 won ($649.80).

The report also notes that since the Korean launch of the Xbox 360 in February 2006, over 100,000 units have been sold.
