Newsbrief: Gravity Rush
, one of the biggest games released for PS Vita, has so far shipped 100,000 copies in Japan since the action title released there nearly two months ago.
Developed by SCE Japan Studio with Keiichiro Toyama (Silent Hill, Siren
) at the helm, Gravity Rush
is one of the better selling titles for PS Vita. The system has struggled to sell meaningful numbers in Japan, which some blame on a lack of must-have software for the handheld.
When Gravity Rush
debuted in Japan (with the title Gravity Daze
), the game sold over 43,000 units
in its first week. Toyama tweeted yesterday that the game has sold steadily since then, albeit in small amounts, according to a report
For comparison, Nintendo's newest first-party action game for 3DS, Kid Icarus: Uprising
, has already sold 132,000 copies
in Japan two days after its release. Gravity Rush
will have a chance to sell more copies when it releases in North America and Europe this June.
