IndieCade organizers have named the winners of the show's 2012 game awards, with Molleindustria's Unmanned scooping the Grand Jury prize.

The awards aim to recognize "superior examples of story development, visual, technological, audio and all-around independent game titles," alongside developers who have contributed greatly to the indie game space.

Other winners included RSBLSB's PSN puzzle shooter Dyad which took home the award for Best Audio, while Amanita Design's Botanicula won Best Story/World Design.

IndieCade also revealed that it will host a new show, called IndieCade East, in New York City from February 16-17, 2013. The first annual show will feature finalists and award winners from the main IndieCade show for attendees to play.

Game Design: Armada D6 - Eric Zimmerman and John Sharp
Technology: Vornheim - Zak S.
Story/ World Design: Botanicula - Amanita Design
Special Recognition: The Stanley Parable - Davey Wreden
The Trailblazers Award: Elan Lee
Developers Choice Award: Renga - wallFour
Audience Choice Award: Hokra - Ramiro Corbetta

For those who don't know, Vornheim - winner of the technology award - is a book. The kind printed on paper. I've used it and it definitely deserves to win.

I would love to see this kind of radical openness to new ideas at other games shows.
