Newsbrief: Thatgamecompany's PSN-exclusive Journey has been chosen as the winner of the second annual GameCity Prize, an award that celebrates the most creative and culturally significant games from both indie and AAA developers.

The GameCity Prize judges selected Journey from among a notable pool of finalists including Bastion, Dark Souls, Catherine, Johann Sebastian Joust, Mass Effect 3, and more. Mojaang's Minecraft took home last year's award at GameCity Prize's inaugural event.

The GameCity Prize competition takes place as part of the UK-based GameCity, a weeklong video game culture festival held at Nottingham Trent University. For more information on either event, be sure to check out the GameCity and GameCity Prize websites.
