The GameStop-owned company is now providing interested parties with the tools to enable promotion and monetization of digital titles via the portal, and downloadable titles can be integrated with Kongregate's social elements.
Kongregate also says that it will work closely with developers who choose to launch their downloadable games via the 15 million unique monthly visitors-strong portal, offering hands-on game mechanics consulting and ideas for how best to apply monetization.
The first bunch of titles to take advantage of the new platform are Super Monday Night Combat from Uber Entertainment, Smashmuck Champions from Kiz Studios, and Bomb Buddies from Balanced Worlds.
"Adding downloadable titles brings a new level of gaming to core players looking for high-definition graphics with more options and content to select from," noted Kongregate co-founder Jim Greer.
Any virtual goods sold are split 70 percent to developers, 30 percent Kongregate, of the gross revenue generated.
