Stardock rolls out new mobile division
developer Stardock has announced it is unfurling a new mobile division.
The company's mobile efforts are to be overseen by newly appointed studio chief Derek Paxton (lead designer for the company's Elemental: Fallen Enchantress
) and senior producer Chris Bray (formerly lead designer for Red Storm Entertainment).
Three titles are in the pipeline, the first of which has been announced as a combination card and strategy game, Dead Man's Draw
, bound for iOS.
"The mobile platform allows us to design games that just wouldn't make sense on a PC," Stardock CEO Brad Wardell said in conjunction with the announcement.
Stardock acquired the Star Control
IP from Atari in July of this year
. Previously, the company announced it was setting up a multi-million dollar investment fund
as an unorthodox expansion strategy.
