: Game makers in search of a sweet jam to ring in the new year, take heart: the second annual New Year Game Jam
is nigh, challenging entrants to create a game in the 48 hours between midnight December 31 and midnight January 2.
It's a good opportunity for game makers to jam together in the spirit of celebration. Jam master Richard Blechinger
doesn't seem too picky about submission deadlines, so it should be a (comparatively) laid-back affair -- you can submit your game via the NYGJ website on January 2 in whichever time zone you happen to find yourself in.
If you need a little motivation, there's a randomized game theme generator on the website that offers up suggestions like "first-person turn-based game with dinosaurs," as well as a chat interface for the #NYGJ IRC channel, where you should be able collaborate with other devs worlwide once the jam kicks off. Last year 28 games
were submitted to the inaugural NYGJ, and it would be great to see even more entries this time around.
