: PopCap Games CEO Dave Roberts is planning to retire effective next Wednesday, January 8th, according to a report
VentureBeat reports that Vechey will soon be the last PopCap co-founder left at the studio, as fellow co-founder Jason Kapalka is expected to quit the company alongside Roberts and continue to work with PopCap as a consultant.
PopCap co-founder John Vechey is expected to take over Roberts' responsibilities running the studio, which has undergone multiple rounds of layoffs
in the wake of its acquisition
by Electronic Arts in 2011.
PopCap's social media maven Jeff Green also recently left the studio, making for three relatively high-profile personnel departures in as many months.
Roberts has not yet confirmed or commented on his departure from PopCap -- Gamasutra has reached out for more information, and we'll report back with any meaningful updates.
