More 2K Games layoffs, as one of 2K Czech's studios closes
2K Games continues to evaluate its development resources, with the confirmation this morning that the company is closing one of its studios in the Czech Republic.
In a statement to Eurogamer, a 2K representative explained that
the 2K Czech team at the Prague studio has been "relocated and consolidated" and will now work out of its remaining Brno studio instead.
Meanwhile, some staffers have been moved to the 2K headquarters in Novato, California, while an unknown number of staff has been laid off.
"This transition will both strengthen the integration of the 2K Czech team with our award winning development teams, and better align cross-functional business practices," reads the statement. "As part of this realignment, we are adjusting our staffing levels, resulting in the elimination of some positions."
