Newsbrief: In a post on his company's blog, Undead Labs founder Jeff Strain reveals that the studio has inked a major deal with Microsoft Studios -- a "multi-year, multi-title agreement," according to Strain.

While he said that it's too early to divulge any more details, he did cap the news by noting "suffice it to say there are big things going on with State of Decay."

State of Decay is one of the biggest successes in the history of Xbox Live Arcade; it sold 250,000 copies in two days, and according to Microsoft's official Xbox blog is the platform's fastest-selling original Xbox Live Arcade title.

Strain founded Undead Labs in 2009; prior to that, he was the co-founder of NCsoft's ArenaNet studio.

So glad to hear that. I am still sad that Undead Labs doesn't own the rights to State of Decay, but they have a great and talented group.

I am also very glad that Microsoft hasn't brought them out. I would be curious if there had been talks about doing that.
