"The bird is flying along peacefully," he says with a chuckle, "and all of a sudden you die!"
- Dong Nguyen explains the design of Flappy Bird and opens up about how its unexpected success affected him in a recent interview with Rolling Stone.

It's been more than a month since Nguyen took down his infamous mobile game Flappy Bird, and a recent interview with a Rolling Stone reporter suggests that the Vietnamese indie developer is doing just fine.

"I can't go back to my life before, but I'm good now," Nguyen told the reporter, who interviewed the 28-year-old at a public place in Hanoi, Vietnam.

According to the report Nguyen has quit his job, spent some of the money he made running ads on the unexpectedly successful Flappy Bird, and is now developing a few new mobile games, including an action chess game called Checkonaut and a flying game called Kitty Jetpack.

You can -- and definitely should -- read the full interview on Rolling Stone's website to learn more about Nguyen's early life and the experiences that inspired him to create Flappy Bird.

"I pictured how people play...one hand holding the train strap," Nguyen told the Rolling Stone reporter, referencing Hanoi's public transportation services. "When you play game on a smartphone...the simplest way is just tapping."
