Comcept published a video today of founder Keiji Inafune playing through an early build of Mighty No. 9, the Kickstarted spiritual successor to Mega Man that he and Comcept are developing alongside fellow Japanese developer Inti Creates.

An edited version of the video was shown during Inafune's talk at the D.I.C.E. 2014 Summit last month. The longer version released today includes some interesting back-and-forth between Inafune and his staff about how to tweak character movement to make it feel right, how the game's lighting system works, and the state of the game's animation.

While at DICE, Inafune also sat down for an interview with Gamasutra in which he opened up about his approach to designing side-scrolling action games that feel satisfying to play.

Mighty No. 9 isn't his only ongoing foray in the field, either -- Inafune announced last weekend that he is also working with Inti Creates on the upcoming side-scrolling action game Azure Striker Gunvolt for the Nintendo 3DS eShop.
