Against all odds, Harmonix has pulled it off
. While success for the studio's Amplitude
Kickstarter wasn't looking likely
, the crowdfunding campaign broke through its goal last night, with hours to spare.
Harmonix launched the Kickstarter for a rebooted Amplitude
earlier this month, stating that if the Kickstarter didn't work, the game simply couldn't be made through any other means.
And while it was looking grim up until a few days ago, the Kickstarter received a sudden burst of energy this week thanks to various high-profile articles and appeals.
"We honestly can’t believe it," said Harmonix's John Drake. "We get to make another Amplitude
and play it with you guys. It’s incredible."
