PS4 and Xbox One performing way better than predecessors
PS4 and Xbox One performing way better than predecessors
October 19, 2015 | By Christian Nutt

"After 23 months on the market, combined PS4 and Xbox One sales are 40 percent higher than the combined 23 month totals for PS3 and 360."

- NPD Group analyst Liam Callahan

Today analyst firm the NPD Group reported monthly video game retail sales for the U.S. market, and buried in its facts and figures was this interesting nugget of information: Current generation PlayStation and Xbox consoles are vastly outperforming their predecessors at this point in their lifespans.

According to a statement from Sony, the PS4 was the best-selling console in the U.S. in September. Microsoft should get a boost this month, however, as Halo 5 is set to ship at the end of the month.
