Organizers of the 2016 Game Developers Conference are happy to announce that for the fourth year in a row, 30 GDC Indie Games Summit tickets will be donated to the 2016 Indie Giving venture in partnership with the Indie Giving charity effort.

The goal of the agreement with Indie Giving, which is run by FGL chief and indie community veteran Chris Hughes, is to give generous indie game makers an opportunity to attend GDC at an affordable rate, and give back to people in need at the same time.

GDC officials have reserved 30 of the sold-out IGS Summit passes for purchase through the Indie Giving package program. To purchase these $295 packages, you must agree to give back to the local community by volunteering on an onsite project before GDC 2016.

Here's how it works: Everyone who signs up for the Indie Giving package will meet ahead of GDC 2016 on Sunday, March 13th, to pitch in together on a humanitarian service project in the Bay Area. Those who participate after purchasing an Indie Giving Package get transportation and lunch on the Sunday volunteering day, plus other perks to come.

Indie Giving package buyers will also get a pass to attend the Independent Games Summit on Monday, March 14th and Tuesday, March 15th at GDC 2016 - making this charitable program the only way you can get this sold-out pass at this point.

To get yours, head over to the Indie Giving website now -- supplies are limited.

GDC 2016 itself will take place March 14-18th at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. For more information on GDC 2016, visit the show's official website, or subscribe to regular updates via FacebookTwitter, or RSS.

Gamasutra and GDC are sibling organizations under parent UBM Technology Group.
