Nintendo Corporate Affairs VP Kaigler Quits

After just under two years at her post, Nintendo corporate affairs vice president Denise Kaigler will be leaving the company.

Kaigler told consumer site IGN that the continual travel required for her job ultimately made it too challenging to balance work and family. "I've spent the last two years commuting almost constantly between San Francisco, Seattle, New York and my home in New England," she explained.

"It has been a fantastic adventure, but the time has come where I need to choose one over the other... and I have to choose my family."

Kaigler joined Nintendo from after 16 years in a marketing executive role at Reebok in January of 2008, taking over the role Perrin Kaplan vacated when she elected not to move during Nintendo's 2007 marketing relocation.

"What I leave behind is a great team that will continue to tell the story of Nintendo's pipeline of wonderful products," Kaigler reflected. She hasn't yet disclosed details of her next move.

"There are hundreds of people I hope I will run across again – and trust that I will. So instead of considering this 'game over,' I look at my choice as really just finishing one level... and moving on to the next."
