MonoGame support arriving on Xbox One 'soon'
MonoGame support arriving on Xbox One 'soon'
March 14, 2016 | By Chris Kerr

MonoGame, an open source implementation of Microsoft's XNA 4 framework designed to be used as a porting tool, is finally getting Xbox One support

Until now XNA wasn't supported natively on Microsoft's flagship console, meaning devs using the framework to create Windows and Windows Phone titles had a hard time bringing their games to the system.

However, after speaking with one of MonoGame's current project leads, Tom Spilman, Microsoft has agreed to bring MonoGame support to Xbox One "soon."

One of the first games set to ship on Xbox One using MonoGame will be Tom Happ's sci-fi metroidvania side-scroller, Axiom Verge.

MonoGame currently supports Windows, OS X, Linux, iOS, Android, Ouya, PlayStation Mobile, and PlayStation 4, and has previously been used to port a number of indie titles including Bastion, Fez, and TowerFall.
