Sony cancels PlayStation original series, Powers

Sony cancels PlayStation original series, Powers

August 4, 2016 | By Chris Kerr

Sony's first and only PlayStation original TV series, Powers, has been cancelled after two seasons.

Powers producer and comic creator Brian Michael Bendis shared the news on Twitter, explaining that season two would be the last, "at least for now."

After meandering through production for the better part of a decade, Sony decided to turn Powers into the PlayStation Network's first original series.

The show was made available for free to PlayStation Plus members and debuted on March 10, 2015. But after just two seasons and 20 episodes, Sony has pulled the plug on its experimental venture.

"This is hard to tweet, but word is that Powers is sadly no more. Season 2 was the last, at least for now," tweeted Bendis.

"I'll type more about it later, but thank you all for your support. Such a fantastic personal experience that you gifted all of us."
