Earthworm Jim publisher Interplay selling off dozens of game properties

Newsbrief: L.A. based developer-publisher Interplay Entertainment is selling off the majority of its video game assets and intellectual property.

The rights to roughly 70 franchises and dozens of characters are up for grabs, with the three-decade old studio hoping to see them brought to life in "ways never possible before" through new tech such as AR and VR.

"Interplay has entertained millions of players with its well-recognized games, including Earthworm Jim, [...] Dark Alliance, and Descent," said company president, Eric Caen.

"With the proliferation of mobile, augmented reality, virtual reality and other new forms of consumption, we believe that consumers are ready to experience and interact with Interplay's characters, stories and gameplay in ways never possible before."

Investment firm Wedbush Securities is handling the sale. You can find out how to get in touch right here
