Digital River To Manage TERA 's In-Game Commerce, Online Shop

Publisher En Masse Entertainment signed an agreement with Digital River allowing the company to manage in-game transactions for TERA, and to set up an online store to support the upcoming MMORPG's North American sales.

This global, multi-year deal will run until 2014 and will have Digital River taking care of services like global payments, subscriptions, fraud protection, and virtual currencies. The e-commerce solutions provider is also tasked with launching the online store for selling TERA, or The Exiled Realm of Arborea, sometime in 2011.

Created by En Masse Entertainment's parent company and Seoul-based developer Bluehole Studio, TERA is slated to release in South Korea this year, and in North America and Europe in 2011. The game's standout feature is its dynamic combat system, in which players must move around enemies while dodging attacks during combat, similar to console action titles.

Seattle-based En Masse Entertainment says it chose Digital River as a partner after deciding the the company had "the most scalable solution" and offered the "powerful online and in-game features [required for its] flagship product."
