Infinity Blade franchise rakes in $30M

Newsbrief: A year after the first Infinity Blade debuted on iOS, the Chair Entertainment and Epic Games franchise has already generated more than $30 million in profit.

$23 million of that total is from the first Infinity Blade, while $5 million is from that game's sequel, which released in December 2012 (the original didn't reach the $5 million mark until three months after its App Store debut).

Other releases in the franchise include the Infinity Blade: Awakening digital novella by Brandon Sanderson, the Infinity Blade soundtrack, and the coin-op Infinity Blade FX game released to arcades.

Infinity Blade was the first game for iOS from Chair Entertainment, and was the first App Store title to use Epic Games' Unreal Engine 3 -- the series has received praise for presenting impressive graphics on mobile devices.
