FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WINTER PARK, Fla. – March 12, 2014 – Highwinds ® today announced that it is a founding partner of GameLaunched, a new entrant into the crowdfunding scene specifically focused on gaming. Highwinds, the exclusive content delivery network (CDN) partner for GameLaunched-funded games, will offer global distribution over its Game Delivery Network™ (GDN™) and serve in a mentoring capacity to developers through its representation on the GameLaunched “Launch Crew.”

GameLaunched presents a unique value proposition for global game developers because it offers so much more than just a crowdfunding platform. One of the many ways GameLaunched sets itself apart from other platforms is the guidance it lends throughout the entire development and delivery lifecycle, from pre-funding to post-launch. It does this through the Launch Crew, a community of gaming industry veterans with expertise ranging from development to engineering to marketing.

“We’re pleased to have Highwinds on-board as a partner, both for the expertise they bring to the Launch Crew and because their GDN is the de facto standard for online game delivery,” said Steve Foley, co-founder of GameLaunched. “One message we’ll preach together is that our developers shouldn’t wait until their game is fully developed before considering an online distribution strategy. This partnership puts developers in a position to start that conversation much earlier in the process.”

GameLaunched taps into the industry’s true competitive spirit with the gamification of the funding process, including leaderboards and ways to earn experience points. Points are redeemable for games and merchandise in the “Market Place,” which features fully funded and developed games, and augments the marketing and public relations support provided by Launch Crew members.

“There’s a lot of synergy between our culture and what GameLaunched is setting out to accomplish,” said Steve Miller, founder and CEO of Highwinds. “We’ve amassed gaming-focused employees, customers and connections, we have the only global network optimized for game delivery, and we’re already advising newcomers and experts alike on distribution strategies. We’re pleased to join GameLaunched on their mission of building a community and nurturing the next generation of game development.”
