History of the Demon Girl - One Hell of a Kickstarter
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
USA, LOS ANGELES - April 14th, 2014 - Indie studio Silhouette Games (founded by solo developer and former Square Enix employee, Danny Mastrangelo) is seeking funding for its first major release, History of the Demon Girl, on Kickstarter.
In History of the Demon Girl players guide Roku through 9 pixelated Circles of Inferno. Along the way she'll meet all kinds of strange creatures and tortured souls which she'll release in a timely fashion if she wants to avoid the stinging barbs of her large demon companion Sam. The game features arcade style twitch gameplay and was inspired by games like Mega Man, Little Nemo: The Dream Master, and Bit Trip Runner. It also plays at humor reminiscent of more modern games like Katamari Damacy and Breath of Death VII.

QUOTE FROM DEVELOPER
"Instead of focusing on perma-death (I mean, I rogue-like those games, I just don't know if I rogue-like-like those games), I wanted to make a game that was simple and fun, but also challenging and addictive. History of the Demon Girl is a game that never makes you feel like a loser, but also constantly makes you want to play better."
Race between three different tiers, teleporting from top to bottom, grabbing tokens, releasing souls, and avoiding the obstacles put in your path by The Devil. In every Circle there is a "Break Level" which offers a completely different style of gameplay as players attempt to escape from one Circle of Hell to the next.
Beginning Date: March 24th, 2014
Ending Date: April 23rd, 2014

I was a QA Tester for SCEA and helped launch the Playstation 3 in 2006. In 2008, I started working for Square Enix and worked there for five years. After ushering several incredible games onto the shelf (including Final Fantasy XIII, Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, and more!), I wanted to pursue my lifelong dream of making my own games. As a developer, I think that the gamer experience is the most important aspect of any title. If it's not fun to play, then why bother? To ensure this level of quality gameplay, I try to interact with the people who play my games as much as possible and I'm always happy to talk about my work.
