Bossa continues to Shine
London, 3 rd July 2014 – With over 5 million players worldwide, Bossa Studios, the London-based indie games developer and publisher, is aiming to solidify its position as a leading light in the games industry by announcing the appointment of a heavyweight Board of Advisors that will collaborate with founders Henrique Olifiers, Roberta Lucca and Imre Jele.
The Board of Advisors comprises Ian Livingstone CBE, Andy Payne OBE and David Lau-Kee, all of whom offer outstanding contribution in their areas of expertise, and will assist Bossa with their strategy moving forward as they continue to deliver unique and disruptive gaming experiences that few studios can match.
Henrique Olifiers, Co-founder of Bossa Studios comments “I'm tremendously happy and proud, as a gamer, to have the opportunity to work with these incredible creators that inspired me throughout my life and, as an entrepreneur, to count on their insights and experience. Together we want to grow Bossa into something as unique and relevant as the studios and companies they've founded and led.”
Founded in 2010, in just three and a half years, Bossa’s small but passionately creative team of 30 has developed six games across multiple platforms, including the enormously successful Surgeon Simulator 2013, which has sold over 1.5 million copies and inspired more than 2 million fan-made videos on YouTube, racking up a BAFTA nomination along the way.
Leading the pack of small, independent and fast-paced British studios, Bossa is highly-regarded for its commitment to innovation in games development, vocally supporting cutting-edge technology such as VR, as well as breaking new ground in high profile government initiatives such as educational games. Bossa is also notable for its dedication to community engagement and emergent creativity, hosting regular internal Game Jams that encourage the team to explore new and challenging ideas.
