PRESS RELEASE

Hamburg, July 21, 2014 – Bigpoint, a leading online game developer and publisher, has established a company to develop mobile games in Lyon, France. The initial production team of 13 employees joins Bigpoint Lyon following the acquisition of the mobile company Little Worlds Studio which was closed on July 15. Little Worlds Studio has long-standing and international experience in developing and launching mobile games such as Color Cross Online and Mana Crusher.

“We are very proud to welcome the Little Worlds team to the Bigpoint family. We have been impressed by their dedication and commitment to their craft and feel they can benefit from the analytics, monetization and distribution capabilities Bigpoint has developed over the last 12 years”, says Khaled Helioui, CEO of Bigpoint. “To the same extent that the Radon Labs and 49Games acquisitions allowed us to develop better games for core gamers, with titles such as Drakensang Online and Merc Elite, Little Worlds will help us better address the massive casual and mid-core audience on mobile.”

“I’m very pleased with Bigpoint’s acquisition of our development team and I’m confident that the team will deliver fantastic mobile games for our new company’s growing international mobile portfolio”, explains David Chomard, former Head of Little Worlds Studio and new Head of Bigpoint’s studio in Lyon. “We see and value the creative space within Bigpoint and look forward to coming up with innovative concepts and ideas.”

Khaled Helioui: “This acquisition supports the overall ongoing expansion of our casual, and to a certain extent mid-core, activities to mobile with the emergence of a new dedicated studio in Lyon that we intend to scale over the next few months.”

Over the past nine years, the Little Worlds Studio team has developed more than 70 games for a variety of genres for iPhone, iPad, Android and other platforms. The team has worked for an international selection of major game developers utilizing state-of-the art technology and programming languages. At Bigpoint Lyon, they will now continue developing the Little Worlds Studio´s own current live games and as well start production on innovative mobile games for the Bigpoint Group.

Bigpoint maintains a successful history of takeovers: The recent acquisitions of Radon Labs in 2010 and 49Games in 2011 have resulted, for instance, in the fantasy RPG Drakensang Online and a soon-to-be announced, near-futuristic MOBA game.
