Madrid, June 24th, 2010 –. Zed Group, the
multinational company based in Spain, devoted to digital
entertainment and comprising the companies Zed, Ilion, and Pyro
Studios, has won the Meffy Award in the Cross Platform Content
category, competing with other finalists like The Walt Disney
Company, CBS, Hungama and Fun Little Movies. Zed Group has won the
cross platform Meffy thanks to the 360º digital entertainment
offer around Planet 51 in recognition of digital content
convergence. The Meffy Awards are conceded by the Mobile
Entertainment Forum (MEF) and represent a wide international point
of reference in acknowledging success and innovation in the mobile
entertainment and media industries.
The computer animated movie Planet 51 and the global
entertainment offer developed around it exemplify Zed Group’s
capabilities and multiplatform vision. Ilion Animation Studios
launched the film in November 2009, premiering in more than 170
countries. At the same time, Pyro Studios launched the video game
for consoles, and Zed developed a wide offer for mobile and
Internet services: an online gaming universe, a full catalogue of
content for personalization, two mobile games -one for iPhone-, as
well as a broad social games offer.
The Meffy’s 2010 gala, which took place on June 21st in
London’s Covent Garden, gathered 300 representatives from the
global digital entertainment sector, including operators, studios,
equipment manufacturers, copyright owners, producers, and media
groups.

Sony Ericsson Content Awards within the category “It’s
all about entertainment” amongst others.
This very week, Zed Group has launched a new social game,
