DALLAS – May 26, 2010 – Midnight Mysteries™: Devil on the Mississippi is now available for digital download and at retailers nationwide from MumboJumbo, a leading developer and publisher of casual games.  The adventure game is the third installment in the Midnight Mysteries series, which includes The Edgar Allan Poe Conspiracy and Salem Witch Trials.  This chapter explores the works of Mark Twain and William Shakespeare through immersive atmospheres, brain-teasing puzzles, ghosts from the past, hidden-object puzzles, and an entertaining story full of twists and turns.

“Once again, we’re offering the best of puzzle adventure game play in our Midnight Mysteries franchise,” said Mark Cottam, chief executive officer of MumboJumbo.  “Having really sparked the move to more adventure-style gaming for casual fans with Midnight Mysteries, we definitely feel like we owe the very best to our players, and that’s what they’ll find in Devil on the Mississippi.”

In Midnight Mysteries: Devil on the Mississippi, Mark Twain’s ghost is seeking help from beyond.  Twain’s passion for literary history reignites a controversial debate about the true identity of Shakespeare, and the question resurrects one of the most interested parties from the dark side.  After waking the evil spirit, you set out on a mission with Twain to try to banish it, but the plot only thickens.  With Twain’s help, the player is tasked to unravel the connections to try to set history straight while dangerous forces loom.

“Devil on the Mississippi includes eight adventure missions that take place in settings on both sides of the pond,” said Cottam. “This is a Collector’s Edition game, so we’ve added lots of fun extras for the player, including a helpful strategy guide.  We’re really proud of what we’ve achieved in this installment—this is the best Midnight Mystery yet.”

Twain’s popularity has enjoyed resurgence during the past year.  2010 marked the 175 th anniversary of Twain’s birth and the release of the much-anticipated Autobiography of Mark Twain: Volume 1 from University of California Press.  The author of such staples in American literature including The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, and Life on the Mississippi, Mark Twain’s legacy is wide spread.

Midnight Mysteries: Devil on the Mississippi is available now at and will make its retail debut in early June. This is the third game in the Midnight Mysteries series of adventure games.  To learn more about Midnight Mysteries, visit
